A reminder

A number of weeks ago, on a wintery hillside, a chance meeting with a friend and fellow blogger (www.summitsup.me.uk), served to remind me that I once wrote a regular blog.

You may have noticed that the end of 2018 was a write-off! Swiftly followed by 2019, thus far. It’s probably the longest spell of being wordless I’ve ever experienced. Not even any handwritten drafts.

Hilly terrain with sunlight and blue sky being consumed by dark clouds
Dark clouds loom over distant Bodbury (L) and Haddon Hill (R)
It’s a somewhat weary voice that now finds its way here, drifting in on the seemingly permanent chilly breeze that inhabits the Shropshire hills at the moment. Or at least every time I venture out – every day!

My current blogging aim is to try and produce a small post concerning my traditional Christmas day walk. Despite following some internet forum suggestions, my camera software is refusing to work following a Windows 10 update, so there is a chance my post will consist of words only? (The picture above is from my phone, taken 9th December 2018.)

In the meantime, a very belated but heartfelt wish that all who venture here, have a wonderful 2019.

Have fun
Backpacker John
